Reading marks 80th anniversary of VE Day with civic service

Residents are invited to attend a special civic service of remembrance to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.

Reading Minster, St Mary's Butts, Reading RG1 2LG

When?
Thursday 8 May 2025 at 7pm

The service takes place will honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served during the Second World War. The evening will provide a time for reflection and remembrance, followed by a reception with the Mayor where light refreshments will be served.

Reading Mayor, Cllr Glenn Dennis, will lead the service and has extended a warm invitation to members of the public.

“This special service will be an opportunity to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served during the Second World War and to remember those who gave their lives for peace and freedom.
